Overview
This course is designed for current and future HPE B-series SAN administrators. It introduces necessary FC theory such as routing, trunking, addressing, and services, as well as B-Series associated topics such as proprietary features, HPE B-series SAN management and monitoring options, SAN extension technologies, advanced SAN security, and hardware installation. NVME-oF theory is also presented. All practical parts are based on HPE B-series SAN devices. This course helps students gain the experience needed to tackle the challenges of working in medium-sized and enterprise-class HPE B-series SAN environments.

This course is ideal for intermediate to advanced IT professionals seeking a learning path that includes knowledge of FC-SAN technologies and experience in HPE B-series SAN environments.

This course provides additional knowledge on Windows, Linux®, VMware®, and HPE Morpheus VM Essentials Software connectivity to HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 storage arrays, as well as various integration capabilities of those families with listed operating systems. That includes toolkits, APIs, VMware integration plug-in, and VMware vSphere® Virtual Volumes™ (vVols) support. Additionally, an overview of containers support based on Kubernetes® is presented, along with Veeam® Backup & Replication™ integration with HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 replication features.
Using extensive hands-on lab exercises that comprise over 70% of the course, you gain a practical understanding of HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 Integration with Microsoft Windows, Linux, VMware, and VM Essentials connectivity to HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000and Veeam Backup & Replication.

This course covers the general concepts of Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) and disaggregated Hyperconverged Infrastructure (dHCI), as well as HPE offerings from the HCI portfolio with focus on HPE Alletra dHCI using HPE Alletra 6000 or HPE Alletra 5000, or HPE Nimble Storage. Hands-on labs are used to reinforce selected content discussed in the lecture.
The course covers HPE Alletra dHCI features and theory of operation, including building blocks, available deployment options, and networking aspects. It also lists HPE Alletra dHCI management options, such as on-premises integration with VMware vSphere® client and HPE GreenLake cloud-based management. HPE InfoSight support for dHCI is covered as well.
In addition, the course discusses use cases and integration of HPE Alletra dHCI with VMware (vCenter® plug-in, vSphere® Virtual Volumes™(vVols), and vSphere Metro Storage Cluster with HPE Peer Persistence, plus VMware Site Recovery Manager™ (SRM) and VMware Cloud Foundation™) as well as integration with Kubernetes® (including overview, CSI driver, and architecture). The course then presents the Intelligent Upgrade process.
